Murphy’s Latest Executive Order Allows Curbside and Outdoor Public Library Services

Shore News Network

BRICK, NJ – If you’ve been waiting to get back into your local library, you’re going to have to keep waiting, but starting June 15th, libraries are allowed, by law to operate with curbside pickup and they can reopen their outdoor spaces if they choose to do so.  Under this order, libraries will not be forced to reopen, as that is a local decision.  Libraries are permitted to offer curbside pickup and can reopen their outdoor spaces to the public, but patrons shall not be permitted to enter the brick-and-mortar premises.   Some libraries in New Jersey currently offer digital download services and others are mulling over their possible return under the new order. Please check with your local library to see what their plans are.
