New York Man Accidentally Shot Himself With Illegal Gun in Jackson Township

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ –  On Monday July 6, 2020 at approximately 7:32 am, officers and emergency personnel responded to a residence on West Connecticut Concourse on the report of a male with a gunshot wound.

Officers located the victim with a reported self inflicted gunshot wound to the left leg and recovered a .38 caliber Derringer style handgun. The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to an area hospital for treatment. After receiving conflicting information on how the male came into possession of the weapon and how the incident took place, Det. Michael Goelz was assigned to follow up the investigation, which later indicated that it appeared the gun was fired when it was inside the male’s pants pocket.

Summons complaints were prepared, charging Anthony Raimondi, age 66 of Brooklyn, NY with unlawful possession of a weapon and certain persons not to possess weapons. He will be subject to a pending court appearance.
