TOMS RIVER, NJ – David Richter, the Republican nominee for Congress in New Jersey’s Third District, has been elevated, along with 15 other candidates, to the top tier in the NRCC’s Young Guns program.  Richter joins Tom Kean as the only other House challenger in New Jersey to achieve Young Gun status.

House Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said, “These candidates are gaining serious momentum in their respective races.  They’re working every single day to fight back against the Democrats’ socialist agenda and their success is critical to ensure we flip the House this November.”

“I’d like to thank Leader McCarthy and the NRCC for their recognition of our building momentum in this race.  With their support and guidance, we will win back this seat from Andy Kim, flip the House and retire Nancy Pelosi forever,” said Richter.

Richter is the former CEO of global construction management firm Hill International.  During his time at the company, Hill grew from a struggling family business with less than 300 employees into a successful public company with more than 4,300 employees.  A lifelong Republican, Richter grew up in and has spent most of his life living and working in the Third District.  He earned two bachelor’s degrees and a law degree from Penn as well as master’s degrees from Oxford and Harvard.  Richter and his wife Michelle, who have been married for 20 years, are the parents of four teenage daughters.
