Firefighters Attacked Responding to Call at Neptune Apartment Building

NEPTUNE, NJ – Neptune Uniformed Firefighters – IAFF Local 2691 announced on Monday, that firefighters from the community were attacked while responding to a smoke condition in a high rise senior apartment building.

“Today, while responding to a reported smoke condition in a senior apartment high rise building, the engine crew from the Career Staff were attacked by a resident. The resident became aggravated and temporarily trapped 2 FF’s in the apartment,” the union said. “Luckily, the FF’s were able to subdue him while the Captain and two Neptune Police Officers forced the door open. The resident was arrested by the Police. All members involved were unharmed and refused medical treatment from Neptune EMS.”
