252 new COVID-19 Cases in Ocean County, 155 in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, NJ – More than a week after Governor Phil Murphy visited Ocean County and announced his action plan to combat the COVID-19 outbreak in Lakewood and contain it from spreading to other communities, on Tuesday the Ocean County Health Department released troubling figures.  Ocean County recorded 252 new cases on Tuesday. 28 of those new cases werein Jackson. 35 were in Toms River and 155 in Lakewood.  Overall, now 62% of all of the new cases in Ocean County were recorded in Lakewood.  In the past 2 weeks, Ocean County recorded 2109 cases, with the majority of those new cases in Lakewood.  Ocean County reported just one new fatality from the virus on Tuesday.
