Jackson Man Arrested with 9mm Handgun During Drug Dealing Investigation at Apartment Complex

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A man has been arrested for illegal possession of a firearm in Jackson after police served a warrant at his Prospect Pointe apartment, investigating suspicious drug-related activitiy.

Jackson Police Report:

On Wednesday October 14, 2020 an investigation which was began due to information received about allegations of narcotics activity was concluded and resulted in the arrest of a resident for weapons offenses.

Detectives from the department’s Special Enforcement Unit served a warrant at a residence located in the Prospect Point Apartments and during the resulting search, seized a Glock 9mm handgun which was loaded with hollow point ammunition and $1,950.00 cash.


Arrested:
Clayton Allwood, age 26 of Jackson. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of hollow point ammunition and certain persons not to possess a weapon.

Mr. Allwood, who was discovered to be wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet at the time of his arrest, was processed and later lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
