West Falls Man Who Raped Child in Aurora Held Without Bail

WEST FALLS, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old Nicholas B. Turnquist of West Falls was arraigned yesterday before Buffalo City Court Judge Amy C. Martoche, acting as a Town of Aurora Court Justice, on three counts of Rape in the First Degree, Class “B” felonies.

It is alleged that between December 2012 through June 2013, the defendant engaged in sexual intercourse with a child victim by forcible compulsion at a location in the Town of Aurora.

It is further alleged that the defendant engaged in sexual intercourse with the same child victim by forcible compulsion at second location in the Town of Aurora between August 2013 and November 2015.


It is also alleged that the defendant engaged in sexual intercourse with the same child victim by forcible compulsion at a third location in the Town of Aurora between December 2015 through January 2017.

Turnquist is scheduled to return on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was remanded without bail.

If convicted on all charges, Turnquist faces up to 75 years in prison.

The defendant also has pending criminal charges in Genesee and Wyoming counties.

DA Flynn commends Detective Darren Longboat of the East Aurora Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Stephen C. Earnhart of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
