National Guard Troops to Patrol New York Airports to Check Passengers for COVID-19

NEW YORK, NY – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has asked to deploy New York National Guard troops to enforce COVID-19 travel restrictions at state airports.

Under Cuomo’s latest COVID-19 travel directive, all travelers entering New York must either quarantine for 14 day or provide proof of a positive COVID-19 test result.

“You should not land if you do not have proof of a negative test upon landing. You were supposed to take a test where you were coming from … within three days and it was supposed to show a negative test,” Cuomo said.

National Guard troops, under Cuomo’s plan, will be tasked with stopping and interrogating airline passengers as they disembark planes.  Travelers will need to show the soldiers their COVID-19 papers before getting off the plane.

In New York City, Cuomo ordered socialist Mayor William DeBlasio, aka Warren Wilhelm Jr to deploy New York City Police officers to check the papers of travelers entering the city through JFK and LaGuardia Airports.
