Portland Man Shot Dead on 33rd Avenue Identified, Police Investigating Murder

PORTLAND, OR – Portland Police detectives have released the name of the victim in this case, 31-year-old Harold Andrew Major.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined the cause of Major’s death was from a gunshot wound and the manner of Major’s death a homicide. The Portland Police Bureau will not be releasing additional information about this case at this time.

Mr. Major’s family has been notified of his death and provided the attached photo.

On November 7, 2020, at about 7:33 p.m., Portland Police responded to the report of shots in the area of 3500 Block of Southeast 33rd Avenue. When police arrived they discovered one person who appeared to have been shot.


Cause and manner of death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner at a later time and date. Additional information will be released at the direction of the investigators.
