Jacksonville Firefighters Rescue Family Cat from Home Fire

JACKSONVILLE, FL – On Thursday, Jacksonville firefighters rescued a family cat from a home fire.  Firefighters found the cat hiding in a closet while putting out a fire in the home.

Residential Fire in Sherwood Forest (Posted 11 12 2020) Jacksonville Fire and Emergency Services responded to a residential fire at 104 King Richard Court at approximately 1:30 this morning.
There were no injuries. Six residents exited the residence safely. The fire was contained to the room of origin and swiftly extinguished. Red Cross and Jones Onslow EMC also responded. A cat belonging to the family was found hiding in a closet and has been returned to the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
