Hernando Police Blotter: Man Pull Wife’s Hair While Driving, Brawl at McKinney Sink Site

The following incidents have been reported by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Department:
o Residential Burglary – District 2/Zone 2 – The victim returned home to find his front door was open. Various items were missing from the house. Witnesses gave a description of the suspect. The suspect was located nearby – Arrest/Female – 2020-34389.
o Armed Residential Burglary – District 2/Zone 1 – An unknown suspect entered the victim’s home and removed a firearm – Investigation active – 2020-34416.
o Domestic Violence Battery – District 2/Zone 4 – A husband and wife were involved in an argument while driving. The male suspect proceeded to grab the female victim by the hair. The victim was able to exit the vehicle and call 911 from a nearby business – Arrest/Male – 2020-34426.
o Commercial Burglary – District 2/Zone 4 – Deputies responded to a gas station where the alarm was sounding. Deputies found the glass to the front door had been shattered. The suspects attempted to remove an ATM from inside the business – Investigation active – 2020-34433.
o Agency Assist – District 2/Zone 1 – Deputies responded to a crash involving a motorcycle versus a car at Commercial Way and Lake in the Woods Drive. The motorcyclist died at the scene – The Florida Highway Patrol handled the investigation.
o Aggravated Battery – District 1/Zone 7 – Deputies responded to the report of several individuals fighting in the area of McKinney Sink site 8. All individuals signed waivers of prosecution and all were trespassed from the site by the Florida Division of Forestry – 2020-34463.
• Schools:
o Weeki Wachee High School – A student was found in possession of a vaping device that contained THC. The student was arrested. The Department of Juvenile Justice directed the student be released to a parent.
