Man Carrying Shotgun Down Atlantic City Street Charged, Jailed

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – On November 23, 2020, a report from a citizen regarding a man with a shotgun led to one arrest and the recovery of the weapon. At 6:30 pm, Detective James Barrett of the Special Investigations Section received information from a concerned citizen in reference to a man who was on Atlantic Avenue with a shotgun in a backpack. Detective Barrett was able to provide a detailed description of the man to responding officers.
Officer Anthony Grajales located William Catrambone in the 1600 block of Atlantic Avenue. Catrambone matched the description provided by Detective Barrett and was carrying a black backpack.
The bag contained a shotgun that was dismantled into two parts so it would fit. Catrambone was arrested without incident.
ARRESTED: William Catrambone, 57, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon and certain person not to possess a weapon.
Catrambone was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
