MARION COUNTY, FL – Marion County deputies responded to three incidents including an aggravated battery, a dui and a man who smashed a car window.
Deputy Francois responded to SE 135th Street, in reference to an Aggravated Battery. Contact was made with the victim, who advised he had been battered by Sonny J Spaulding. Deputy Francois’ investigation revealed that Spaulding was upset with the victim for setting off fireworks. The victim advised Spaulding came to his residence wielding a handgun, which he used to strike the victim in the forehead. Spaulding then pointed the handgun in his face and made threats to kill the victim, so he was arrested and transported to the Gold Star Hotel.
Deputy Kephart conducted a traffic stop on a white Toyota Corolla in the 4600 Block SW 166th Court Road for speeding. When Deputy Kephart made contact with the driver, Elizabeth Revels, the odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Deputy Kephart asked Revels to step out of the vehicle, at which time she advised she just placed some under the seat. During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Kephart located Marijuana and THC oil within a vape pen. Revels was taken into custody and taken to the Marion County Jail.
Deputy Hannar responded to NE 142nd Place in reference to criminal mischief to a vehicle. The investigation revealed that Jackie Stotsbenburg (pictured) used a crowbar to break the driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle and create a large hole in the driver’s side door. Stotsbenburg was interviewed and admitted to causing the damage. He was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail.
