Newark Police Make Two Arrests for Multiple Armed Robberies

NEWARK, DE – On November 30, 2020, Newark Police Detectives took Nathan Harrington, 25, of Middletown, and Brittany Martin, 26, of Taneytown, MD, into custody without incident when they arrived at an area shopping center intending to sell stolen property to undercover detectives.  Both suspects were transported to Newark Police headquarters.

Harrington was charged with:

  • Robbery First Degree (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (2 counts)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

Harrington appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and was ordered to be held in default of $80,500 secured bail.  He was turned over to the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.

Martin was charged with:


  • Robbery First Degree
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

Martin appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and was ordered to be held in default of $5,500 cash bail.  She was turned over to the custody of the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in New Castle.


These arrests clear two similar shopliftings-turned-robberies on both November 10th and May 15th.
