Tammy Murphy: New Jersey needs more climate literate policy makers like Christie Todd Whitman

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey isn’t good enough for Virginia Beach native Tammy Murphy.  Murphy today criticized New Jersey and the nation saying the nation needs more “climate literate” people running the show…and don’t forget the artists.   She’s calling for a mandate to teach climate change in the state’s school districts.

“As our nation works toward a cleaner and greener future, we’ll need a diverse pool of climate literate policymakers, urban planners, artists, & more,” Murphy said today. “NJ cannot do this alone! We need EVERY state to follow & adopt climate change education!”

The state’s First Lady also said the Jersey Shoreline is vanishing quickly and New Jersey is suffering from global warming.

“Our state is warming fast, our shoreline is vanishing – we are in the middle of a climate crisis as we speak,” she said. “If we don’t give children the tools to critically think about climate change and the green economy, we are being negligent. Young people are yearning for this.”

Murphy cited an article about a letter signed by Christine Todd Whitman, a former New Jersey Republican Governor who apparently is suffering from Stockholm Syndrome after years serving the Environmental Protection Agency.   If you remember, it was Whitman who headed the EPA during the 9-11 attack on New York City who told New Yorkers and New Jersey workers the air quality was safe to reenter Manhattan.  Many people have since died from that decision and countless others suffering from chronic respiratory diseases because they listened to her.

“I am glad to reassure the people of New York … that their air is safe to breathe and their water is safe to drink,” Whitman said just seven days after the attack.

Of course, in Liberal land, you just apologize and walk it back and everything is made whole again…unless you died or are dying because you listened to her.

“I’m very sorry that people are sick,” Whitman said. “I’m very sorry that people are dying and if the EPA and I in any way contributed to that, I’m sorry. We did the very best we could at the time with the knowledge we had.  Every time it comes around to the anniversary I cringe, because I know people will bring up my name, they blame me, they say that I lied and that people died because I lied, [they say] people have died because I made a mistake.”

Now Whitman is clamoring for the Green New Deal and everything that comes with it. You can almost say she’s a born-again climate change believer.

This time, she’s pushing for climate change education in schools.

“Supporting students today in learning about climate change and providing the opportunity to explore and consider climate solutions will increase the resilience of our society as well as our competitiveness in a green economy,” Whitman wrote to President Joe Biden, no doubt looking for an appointment in the administration.
