BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – German superstore LIDL has opened another store at the Jersey Shore.  The store which took over the former Best Buy in Howell is now joined by a new location in Brick Township at the Riverwalk at Brick Plaza on Hooper Avenue.

Mayor John Ducey, Council Vice President Art Halloran and Councilman Vince Minichino were on hand at this morning’s ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for Brick Township’s Lidl.

“Welcome to Brick Township and we wish Lidl success,” Mayor John Ducey said.

Earlier this year, Lidl announced an aggressive plan to open stores throughout New Jersey and the Mid Atlantic region.

Lidl US announced plans to open 50 new stores by the end of 2021. The stores will be located in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia. Lidl will invest more than $500 million in the new stores and will create about 2,000 new jobs across these communities.
