LAKEWOOD, CO – A shooting at a Lakewood, Colorado Safeway Tuesday afternoon left one woman dead and no sign of the gunman, according to police here. At 1:28 pm Lakewood Police agents responded to the Safeway located in the 9100 block of West Colfax Ave regarding a gunshot wound. Agents arrived on the scene and found an adult female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Agents immediately started life-saving measures before the female was transported to the hospital. A complex investigation is ongoing and several witnesses were interviewed by police. The female was pronounced dead while at the hospital.
“The Identity of the female will not be released pending the notification of the next of kin,” the Lakewood Police Department said. “No arrests have been made at this time. We believe that the incident was isolated and there Is no Immediate danger to the public. No new information will be released pending the beginning stages of the Investigation. As Information becomes available that can be released, we will do so at that time.”
