Hazlet Police arrest three for anti-cop graffiti, months later

HAZLET, NJ –  They might have thought they got away with it, but more than three months later, Hazlet Police charged 3 Monmouth County residents for tagging roadways and other property this past summer with profanity laden anti-police graffiti.

According to poluce, on August 31st, 2020 our agency responded to mutliple reports of graffiti spray painted on the streets of Hazlet in the neighborhoods of Parkview Dr, Linda Place, Rutgers St, Princeton Pl, and North Stevens Place. An investigation launched by the Hazlet Township Detective Division revealed three male suspects who had gone out in the early morning hours of August 31st to spray paint profanity laced, anti-police rhetoric on the above roadways.

Alex Rollin,19, of Hazlet was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief.
Joshua Bowen, 20, of Hazlet was charged with Criminal Mischief.
Charles Traina, 20, of Middletown was charged with Criminal Mischief.


“We’d like to thank our community, and specifically the residents in the affected areas, for their support and assistance in this investigation. We’d also like to thank the Middletown Township Police Department for working jointly on this investigation as well,” the Hazlet Police Department said in a statement Thursday.
