Port St. Lucie Man caught downloading child pornography

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – A Port St. Lucie man was charged for two counts of possessing child pornography on Thursday police said.  During the early morning hours on December 9, 2020, Port St Lucie Police Detectives executed a search warrant on the 1200 Blk of SW Bellevue Ave. Heleone Souza Carreiro was arrested and charged with (2) counts of transmission of child pornography. Detectives seized two laptops from the residence that will be forensically examined. Souza Carreiro declined to speak with Detectives. He is currently being held at the St. Lucie County jail.
The Port St Lucie Police Department has zero tolerance for individuals who think they can hide behind their computer and download child pornography. We have Detectives working behind the scenes specifically looking for crimes of this nature. We have Detectives specially trained to forensically examine electronic devices, even those containing software that individuals use to cover their tracts. The Port St Lucie Police Department is part of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) National Task Force.
