Alabama Sheriff’s Department Deploys “Shopper Chopper” to Watch Over Holiday Shopping

Jeff Jones

SHELBY, AL – The residents of Shelby County, Alabama will be watched over from above during the holiday shopping season.  That’s because the local sheriff’s department is deploying a helicopter to provide overhead surveillance of the community.

“Soon, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office #ShopperChopper will be patrolling the commercial shopping areas of the county,” the department said. “As pedestrian and vehicular traffic are expected to increase this time of year, our flight team will be working hard to monitor these areas for traffic issues and criminal activity. Our deputies are patrolling every day from the ground, water, and skies to keep you safe.”
