BALTIMORE, MD – A newly elected woke mayor, Democrat Brandon Scott grapples with the deadly dangers of COVID-19 and indoor dining, street violence continues to run rampant in his city.  Immediately after being sworn into office, Scott issued a public safety directive to shut down indoor dining and indoor recreation city-wide.  Since the shut down on Friday, gun violence in the city continues…business, as usual, the new mayor’s presence has no effect on the increasing crime in one of America’s most dangerous cities.

Baltimore Police report on Saturday, at approximately 7:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Frederick Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.
Officers arrived at the scene and learned that a group of males riding dirt bikes and another group of males began shooting at each other. A mother and her 10 year-old daughter were walking in the area and the child sustained a head injury during the incident.

The mother and child went to their home and notified authorities. The child was taken to an area hospital. At this time, medical personnel are unable to confirm whether the injury to the 10 year-old girl was caused by a gunshot wound. The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home with family.

Southwest District detectives continue to canvass the area for evidence and further information on potential suspects.

“Our officers are working closely with community members to identify those responsible for this heinous act. Our children are our future and we cannot allow this type of act to be normalized. The individuals responsibley for terrorizing our community with violence will be brought to justice,” said Commissioner Michael Harrison.

Scott might now realize that COVID-19 might not have been public enemy number one when he took the job.

“No one should be shot at, let alone a 10-year-old girl. This is not normal or okay. Somebody needs to take responsibility and say who did it,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “This innocent girl had nothing to do with whatever beef led to this. We will not allow people perpetrating violence to be comfortable on our streets.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Southwest District Shooting detectives at 410-396-2488.
