Columbus teenager looking for fight gets shot in the face

COLUMBUS, OH – A 15-year-old girl who went to fight another girl on Brehl Ave., stood outside her foe’s home yelling for her to come out and fight here.  Instead, she was shot in the face and rushed to Mt. Carmel West Hospital to treat her injuries.

Columbus police say that on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 2:38am, officers responded to Mt. Carmel West Hospital on a walk-in shooting victim.  Upon arrival, officers observed the 15-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to her face which caused her to lose several teeth.  The victim stated that she was going to a house on Brehl Ave. to fight a girl over an ongoing dispute. The victim said that she stood outside the home yelling for the unknown female to come out and fight. The victim stated that when the girl didn’t come outside, she turned around and starting walking back home.

The victim advised as she was walking away from the home, she heard several gunshots and realized she had been shot in the face. The victim was discovered lying in the street by an unknown individual who then transported her to the hospital. A witness, who was with the victim, described the unknown suspects as 2 males.
The victim refused to identify the suspect who shot her in the face.  The victim was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive her injuries.
