Woman shot at New Castle Walmart, 14 vehicles struck

NEW CASTLE, DE – Gunfire erupted Friday night in the parking lot at the New Castle Walmart.  According to police, On Friday at approximately 11:18 P.M., officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Wilton Boulevard and Stonebridge Boulevard for a report of a shooting. Simultaneously, there were additional calls for a shooting at the Walmart located at 117 Wilton Boulevard.

Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered a 20-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of the Walmart. The victim was then transported to an area hospital by Emergency Medical Services where she was treated and released.

The officers determined that 14 vehicles and 3 houses had been struck by gunfire.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police; Criminal Investigation Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
