WEST SACRAMENTO, CA – On Friday night, West Sacramento police officers were dispatched to a call of a suspicious subject armed with a gun. The reporting party witnessed the subject pointing a handgun at the ground and pulling the trigger, but no rounds were fired. When officers arrived on the scene, they witnessed the described suspect get into a Camaro and leave the area. Officers initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation and contacted the suspect. Police K9 Yoda was used to sniff the exterior of the vehicle and gave a positive alert. When presented with this information, the subject admitted to having a handgun concealed under the passenger seat. A search revealed a loaded, unregistered Sig .45 caliber. The subject was arrested and booked at Yolo County Jail. Nice job to the Swings B team, and K9 Yoda for getting this gun off of the streets!
