CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Corpus Christi Police Chief Mike Markle is now in quarantine after testing positive today for COVID-19. Chief Markle will continue working remotely during his quarantine and Assistant Chief David Blackmon will perform the inhouse duties for the chief until he returns.

“Today I tested positive for COVID-19, I am feeling fine and expect a positive recovery. I will continue to work from home for the next two weeks during my quarantine while Assistant Chief David Blackmon handles duties at the Main Police Station,” Chief Markle said. “Despite my best efforts to protect myself I tested positive for the virus. Anyone can get COVID-19 and I encourage all of our community to follow the protocols given by the Health Department. We as a community have to take the virus seriously, for ourselves and the ones we care for.”
