Newark police investigate shooting

NEWARK, DE – On December 17, 2020, at about 1619 hours, Newark Police responded to the parking lot of Market East Plaza in the 200 block of East Main Street for a report of shots fired.  Arriving officers located spent shell casings in the parking lot.  Two unoccupied vehicles in the parking lot were damaged by gunfire.  No one was injured during this incident.  Through witness interviews and video surveillance, detectives determined that a black Dodge Charger, occupied by two males, fled the scene after the shooting.  One suspect was reported to be a black male and the other suspect was reported to be a hispanic male.
