TUSCON, AZ – The Tucson Police Department is actively investigating an apparent murder/suicide that occurred in the 10000 block of E. Palmetto Pointe Trail.
On December 19, 2020, shortly after 12:00 a.m., officers from Operations Division East were dispatched to a home in the 10000 block of E. Palmetto Pointe Trail. The 911 caller advised dispatched he was on his way to the home in order to check welfare on an adult male and juvenile male. The adult male was not responding to phone calls or text messages.
Officers arrived at the home and received no answer at the home and the was treated as a barricade. With the assistance of Tucson SWAT, a search warrant was served, and entry was made into the residence. Once they entered the residence, officers located an adult male deceased with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. A further search of the home officers located a deceased juvenile male with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. No one else was located inside the residence.
Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit, Homicide Unit, and the Child Physical Abuse Unit responded and continued the investigation. They were able to determine that the adult male and juvenile male lived together at the residence along with an adult female who was not home. The adult male has been identified as 40-year-old Phillip Emmanuel Foye, the juvenile male has been identified as 10-year-old Sebastian Phillip Foye. Next of kin have been notified. Based on the initial investigation, detectives believe Phillip Foye was the only adult in the home armed with a firearm. Investigators believe Mr. Foye fired his weapon at the juvenile male before turning the gun on himself.
Detectives are currently continuing the investigation. Additional details will be released as they become available.
