RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ – According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, a man has been arrested for possession of child pornography.
A report by the prosecutor’s office says Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JOHN BIANCHINI (DOB: 4/2/1955; married; letter carrier) of 74 Highland Place, Ridgefield Park, NJ on charges of Possession Of Child Pornography and Possession Of Marijuana. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
On Monday, December 21, 2020, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of JOHN BIANCHINI during the course of an Internet child pornography investigation. The investigation revealed that BIANCHINI used the Internet, including the “Dark Web” (also referred to as the “Darknet”), to view, download, or possess approximately 2,908 digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent children. In addition, law enforcement officers seized approximately 312 grams of marijuana.
As a result of the investigation, JOHN BIANCHINI was arrested on Monday, December 21, 2020 in Paramus, NJ and charged with one count of Possession Of Child Pornography, Greater Than 1000 Files, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(b)5(b)ii, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Possession Of Marijuana, Greater Than 50 Grams, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10(a)3, a 4th degree crime. BIANCHINI was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella thanks the Ridgefield Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation, as well as the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Lyndhurst Police Department and Ramsey Police Department, which all participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
