NEW CASTLE, DE – A boy who was stuck in the mud up to his waist was rescued by first responders on Saturday.   At about 4pm,  New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to assist the Odessa Fire Company in the Goldsborough Farm neighborhood for a rescue for a juvenile who was pinned by mud in a construction area.

The Townsend Fire Company and Delaware State Police Aviation Section were also dispatched to assist the boy.

“The patient was initially pinned up to his waist in the mud after he had been attempting to free himself for approximately one hour,” New Castle County Paramedics said.  “Bystanders freed one leg prior to fire department arrival. A member of the New Castle County Special Operations Team worked in tandem with both fire departments to successfully free the trapped victim after approximately twenty minutes. Thankfully the patient escaped serious injury and was released to family members.”
