Man knocked on door, asked for help, then broke in held home occupants at gunpoint

PORTLAND, OR – A good gesture by a resident on Southeast Woodstock Boulevard in Portland turned tragic.  When they heard a knock on the door, it was somebody asking for help. When they opened the door, the man robbed the occupants of the home at gunpoint, stealing their valuables, their phone and their car.

On December 27, 2020, at 2:48 a.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to a robbery call in the 7400 block of Southeast Woodstock Blvd. The resident told officers that someone was knocking at the door and a male was asking for help. The resident open the door and the suspect pushed his way into the house.

The suspect threatened the victim and his girlfriend with a gun while demanding all of their valuables. The suspect left with a cell phone, laptop, wallet, and the victim’s 2019 Acura. There is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.
