Portland Police Identify Man Murdered on Christmas Day

PORTLAND, OR – On December 25, 2020 at about 8:48 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in an apartment complex located in the 1000 block of Northeast Holladay Street. After arrival it was determined that two people had been shot, one of them was deceased. The other shooting victim was taken to a hospital.

The person killed in this incident has been identified as 33-year-old Jaron Weeks. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office determined Weeks died from gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.

The second person injured in the shooting is still recovering from injuries sustained during the incident and is not being identified at this time.


Mr. Weeks’ family has been notified and provided the photo above.
