GLOUCESTER, NJ – On January 4, 2021 at approximately 2:57 pm, Gloucester Township Police Officers were dispatched to the Gloucester Premium Outlets for a report of an active fight between four subjects inside the Auntie Anne’s store. While arriving, officers received updated information that all parties involved had left the store. Officers quickly made contact with one of the involved parties as he left the store who was cooperative.

A second subject who was involved in the fight was observed by officers walking away from the store towards the parking lot. While investigating the reported altercation, officers attempted to speak with the male several times as he continued to walk away from them. As officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and have the male stop and speak with them, he refused to cooperate, which ultimately led to officers having to physically stop him from walking away so they could complete their investigation.

While officers were attempting to detain the involved male, a female who was accompanying him began intervening in the arrest. The female was warned multiple times by officers that her actions were becoming disruptive and alarming to the public, which resulted in her being arrested.

The male, Buertram Walker, was charged with Obstruction and Resisting Arrest. The female, Jennifer Freeman, was charged with Disorderly Conduct. Both parties were issued a summons for the offenses and released on scene pending court. There were no injuries and no other charges during this investigation.

All use of force incidents are investigated by the Gloucester Township Police Professional Standards Bureau.

Arrested: Buertram Walker – Age 41 1900 Block of Stanley Street in Philadelphia, PA.
