Tulsa Police capture man who raped woman while getting her mail

TULSA, OK -The Tulsa Police Department has captured a man accused of raping a woman who was just getting her mail.  According to police, on January 3rd, officers responded to the area of 61st and Mingo for a rape that just occurred.

“When we made contact with the victim, we learned that the suspect had attacked her when she was at her mailbox in her apartment complex,” the department said in a statement. “The suspect grabbed her and threw her to the ground a couple of times when she was trying to get away. Before the victim lost consciousness, the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened the victim.
The suspect sexually assaulted her and stole her phone.”

Patrol Officers were able to develop a possible location for the suspect and followed up on it. They stopped a car in the 2300 block of North Victor Ave that had the suspect in the vehicle.


The suspect was arrested at the location and had the victim’s cell phone in his pocket at the time of the arrest.
