The New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC), a no-cost, confidential “business-first” resource housed within the New Jersey Department of State, will host a free webinar titled “Grow Your Business in Global Markets” on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. ET. The webcast will provide New Jersey businesses with information on available free tools and resources through the New Jersey Office of Export Promotion.

Manager of Export Promotion, William Spear, and International Business Advocate, Jean Chang, along with their guest, Jim Flaherty, president and CEO of Adsorptech, will discuss everything from exporting preparation to expanding existing international markets. Participants will also learn about the New Jersey State Trade Expansion Program (NJ STEP), which is funded in part through a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration, and how it can help pay for New Jersey companies to attend virtual trade shows and exhibits.

The January program will run for one hour and is free and open to the public. Registration for the session can be secured here.

“NJBAC’s free webinar will educate New Jersey’s small business owners and entrepreneurs on how to reach international audiences through NJ STEP,” said William Spear, manager of Export Promotion. “We will tackle many of the frequently asked questions we’ve been fielding, to offer guidance on export promotion.”

Now in its eighth year, the New Jersey State Trade Expansion Program (NJSTEP) has helped businesses like Spectraspray Global reach new markets around the world. This Montville-based, spray vitamin company works to support the health and wellness needs of travelers. Using NJSTEP funds, the company was able to attend trade shows in Singapore and New Orleans to reach their target audience, resulting in international awareness and an increase of sales.

“If you are a business owner who has already realized the potential of a global market or an entrepreneur seeking to increase sales and profit by taking your business worldwide, we encourage you to explore this opportunity,” continued Spear.

The webinar will be streamed live, and the slides and the recording will be circulated to all registrants after the webcast. Guests will be invited to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

The NJ STEP is administered by the New Jersey Business Action Center’s (NJBAC) Office of Export Promotion, both housed within the New Jersey Department of State. To apply for the NJSTEP program, visit the organization’s website at https://www.nj.gov/state/bac/bac-njstep.shtml or call 1 800 JERSEY 7.
