9th Murder Reported in Columbus on 7th Day of 2021

COLUMBUS, OH –  2021, for Columbus has come in the same way 2020 ended, with a series of homicides across the city.  On Wednesday, the city logged its 9th murder in the first 7 days of the new year.

According to Columbus Police, on January 6, 2021, at 9:05 pm, patrol officers were dispatched to 1311 Stormy Ln. on a person shot. Upon arrival, officers were directed to apartment #204, where they located the victim, 19-year-old Trayvon Hardy, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at 9:13 pm.

Witnesses indicated that the victim stepped outside the apartment and was shot and then collapsed inside the apartment.


At this time, there is no motive for this incident. The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with info is asked to call CPD’s Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers
