Man wearing Joker mask pointed loaded rifle at driver in Winter Haven road rage

WINTER HAVEN, FL – A driver of a Nissan Rogue on Cypress Boulevard in Winter Haven, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was wearing a Joker’s mask, pointing his rifle at other motorists. Deputies were dispatched to a call of a road rage incident where the man, wearing the Joker’s mask was also flashing what appeared to be gang signs. Deputies caught up with the vehicle near Central Avenue and Highway 542.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop and the man threw his rifle and two AR-15 magazines out of the car. Searching the vehicle, deputies found a 30 round magazine and bags of cocaine.

The suspect told deputies the cocaine was for stress release, according to a statement issued by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies also found a rubber Joker mask and 137 rounds of ammunition.


The suspect claimed he did not point any weapons at other motorists, instead claimed a stick fell through his sunroof into his vehicle and that’s what he was pointing. Deputies found no evidence of a stick in the vehicle.

He was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Improper Exhibit of a Firearm, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
