U.S. Marshals, Worcester Police Capture Fugitive

WORCESTER, MA -Worcester police and the the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force worked jointly to capture a man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice.

According to police, on January 7th 2021, at about 12:05 PM, Worcester Police officers working with the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force were in the area of Purchase St to attempt to locate Barry Jumpp, twenty-nine-years-old of Hitchcock St, who had an arrest warrant in connection with a shooting that occurred at Foxwoods Casino.

A member of the Task Force observed Mr. Jumpp in a vehicle that pulled into the parking lot of a business on Burncoat St.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Gregucci Poitevien, twenty-seven-years-old of Purchase St, had gone inside the business, and Mr. Jumpp was in the front seat of the parked vehicle. Mr.


Jumpp was placed under arrest, and officers located a loaded, stolen handgun on his person. When officers entered the store, Mr. Poitevien removed a firearm from his waistband and attempted to hide it in the store. He was placed under arrest.

Neither Mr. Jumpp nor Mr. Poitevien have a license to carry firearms, and both of the firearms were stolen. Mr. Jumpp is charged with being a Fugitive from Justice on a Court Warrant, Carrying a Firearm without a License, and Receiving Stolen Property over $1200.

Mr. Poitevien is charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Improper Storage of a Firearm, and Receiving Stolen Property under $1200. They will be arraigned in court.
