Woman charged after allegedly assaulting 65-year-old man in fit of road rage

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FL – Slow down ya young whipper snapper.  A 33 -year-old woman was charged after assaulting a 65-year-old man who confronted her about speeding.  According the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Misty Swearengin, 33, was yelled at by a 65-year-old resident about her speeding in the 700 block of 5th Pl. S.W, Jan. 6, around 9 a.m.  Swearengin stopped her car and started an argument with the victim. During the confrontation over her speeding in the area she was caught on a surveillance camera pushing the male victim in the chest causing him to fall and strike his head on the pavement.  Swearengin faces charges of battery on a person 65 and over.

This is merely an allegation by the IRCSO and Swearengin is assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
