Gunman who killed 3, shot 4 in Chicago used Facebook to announce his attack

CHICAGO, IL –  Three people are dead and  four wounded after 32-year-old Jason Nightengale went on a killing spree in Chicago, randomly shooting people.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said Evanston police officers shot and killed Nightengale.

Nightengale used social media platform Facebook to announce his impending killing spree, police said, posting videos early Saturday morning saying, “I’m going to blow up the whole community.”


By 11 am, Facebook had disabled Nightengale’s profile page.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Nightengales victims included a 15-year-old girl, an 81-year-old woman, a 30-year-old UC college student, a 77-year-old woman and a 46-year-old security guard.
