Two juveniles shot, 1 killed in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA – One juvenile is dead and another was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting incident on Renick Way.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021. the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from the 3900 block of Renick Way regarding a shooting.

Deputies responded and located two, juvenile subjects suffering from gunshot wounds. They immediately began life-saving measures on both subjects while fire personnel arrived. Fire pronounced one of the subjects deceased at the scene and transported the other subject to a local hospital in critical, but stable condition.


Homicide detectives responded to the scene, gathered evidence, and interviewed witnesses. This investigation is in the preliminary stages and is ongoing. The motive for this shooting is unclear and there is no suspect information to release at this time.

The identity of the victim, in this case, will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
