Columbus AirBNB house party ends with shooting of three that left one dead

COLUMBUS, OH –  AirBNB house parties have become the menace of rural America, with many towns outlawing the parties after criminal behavior, public nuisances and other illegal and often undesirable activities occur at them routinely.  Now, a house party at an AirBNB rental has turned deadly.

On January 10, 2021 at 4:08am, Columbus police officers were dispatched to the area of 345 Whittier St. on a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers were able to find three victims from the shooting.

One victim, 21-year-old Shamaya Dickerson, was pronounced at scene at 4:22am. Two other victims were shot and rushed to Grant Hospital.  Both of those victims are in stable condition and are expected to recover from their injuries.


Witnesses advised that they were at an AirBNB party when an unknown person began shooting. The motive in this incident is still unclear at this time. Anyone with info regarding is asked to call CPD’s Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS.

This is the city’s 10th homicide in 2021. This incident is still under investigation.
