TOMS RIVER, NJ –  Toms River Mayor Mo Hill and the Republican-Democrat alliance between the Toms River Township Council will decide tonight to hire New Jersey Democrat State Senator Vin Gopal’s communications firm, Direct Development to serve as the town’s public relations officer.

Since taking office, Mayor Maurice Hill has been involved in several scandals including pay to play hirings, potentially illegal land deals and a contentious push to lower the township’s 10 acre house of worship zoning law to 2 acres, despite it being an unpopular decision in the community.

The contract, according to the agenda for tonight’s meeting is not to exceed $60,000 per year.   Gopal serves as a Democrat in the New Jersey State Senate.
