Lake City Woman Attacked with Concrete Block, Robbed While Walking Home

LAKE CITY, FL –  A Lake City woman is recovering from her injuries after being hit in the head with a concrete block while she was being robbed. On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 12:30 A.M., officers from the Lake City Police Department were dispatched to 375 NW Orange Street to the report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female victim who was suffering from several facial and head injuries. The victim stated she was walking home from the ATM located at 160 NW Main Blvd when she was approached by a person known to her as “Sporty” who asked the victim for $20. The victim told Sporty she did not have $20 but she did have $10 she would give him. The victim turned away from Sporty while checking her phone. When she turned her back to him, she was struck in the back of the head with a concrete block. T

he victim fell to her knees and was kicked in the face then struck in the face with the concrete block. Sporty then took $150 from the victim before fleeing on foot.
