DAUPHIN COUNTY, FL – The woman who allegedly stole Nancy Pelosi’s laptop from the U.S. Capitol during the January 6th insurrection has been arrested and is now lodged in the Dauphin County Jail in Florida. According to the complaint, the woman’s ex-lover turned her and told the FBI she was trying to move the House Speaker’s laptop to a friend in Russia.
According to a complaint by the Department of Justice, “In the days following the January 6, 2021, events, a witness made several phone calls into the FBI’s telephone tip line related to the U.S. Capitol attacks,” the complaint reads. “In them, the caller stated that he/she was the former romantic partner of Riley June Williams, that he/she saw Williams depicted in video footage taken on January 6, 2021, from inside the U.S. Capitol Building. The witness stated that Williams can be seen directing crowds inside the U.S. Capitol Building up a staircase.”

William’s ex pointed the FBI to a video on YouTube that has since been removed of the rioter taking a laptop computer or hard drive from Speaker Pelosi’s office. The witness stated that Williams intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia’s foreign intelligence service.
The FBI is unsure where the laptop is today. The FBI said the transfer of the computer device to Russia fell through for unknown reasons and Williams still has the computer device or destroyed it. This matter remains under investigation.
Special Agent Jonathan Lund said he watched the video and others including Williams prominently featured during the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Williams traveled to D.C. with her father, who the FBI said did shows no evidence of participating at the rally, saying once arriving, his daughter left him to go meet up with other people.
Williams’ mother told the FBI that she recognized her daughter inside the U.S. Capitol Building and that her daughter had taken a sudden interest in President Trump’s politics and “far right message boards.” She told FBI agents, that her daughter “took off” after a BBC news crew showed up at her home in Pennsylvania. She fled to Florida, getting a new cell phone and deleting her social media accounts.
