Man charged for murder after stabbing man in Salem Woods

NEW CASTLE, DE – On Thursday, in the afternoon, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Risa Court in the community of Salem Woods for an assault. When the officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The patrol officers were able to take a suspect into custody at the scene. Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

The detectives were able to charge the suspect, 38-year-old, Marcello Williams, with one count felony Murder 1st, one count Felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, and one count Felony Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited.  At the time of this news release, the arraignment is still pending.
