During route traffic stop, Wall police learn driver had been shot earlier in Neptune

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – Wall police initiated a traffic stop early this morning to find the driver had been shot.  At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning, January 22 ,2021, Neptune Township Police Department responded to the 300 Block of Fisher Avenue for a report of shots fired.

Shortly thereafter, Wall Township Police (732)449-4500 stopped a vehicle for a motor vehicle infraction. During the course of the stop, a passenger within the vehicle was determined to be suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Neptune Police Department are investigating the Neptune Township shooting incident at this time.
