Two shot Saturday in Newark, police investigating

NEWARK, DE – On Saturday at approximately 3:30 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Winterhaven Drive, in the community of Spring Crossing Apartments for a report of multiple gunshots in the area.

When the officers arrived, they found one 20-year-old, male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to a lower extremity. A second 20-year-old male victim was later found to have been driven to a local area hospital. The second victim was also found to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his extremities.

Both victims are listed in stable condition. This is an active and ongoing investigation, additional updates to follow.
