$130,000 BMW M8 Stolen in Jackson Last Seen in Newark

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Jackson Police, helping a resident located their stolen BMW M8 found the vehicle was last seen on the BMW app as being in Newark.

On Tuesday January 26, 2021 at 9:45 am, Police Officer Matthew Roth responded to a residence located on Mimi Court on the report of a stolen vehicle.

The stolen vehicle was described as a 2020 BMW M8 valued at $130,000.00. It appears through the initial investigation that a key fob had been left in the vehicle. A security video shown to the officer shows that at approximately 2:06 am on this date, a vehicle pulled up in front of the residence and a suspect exited and entered the victim’s vehicle, which appeared to be unlocked. The vehicle then started and backed out of the driveway and left the area. This incident took approximately 30 seconds and due to the distance and darkness, no details were observed which could assist to identify the suspects or suspect vehicle.


The victim’s BMW app indicated that the vehicle was in Newark just after 4:00 am and the Newark Police Department was contacted to check for it. At this time it has not been located.

Residents are reminded to remove valuables from their parked vehicles and lock them, making certain not to leave the key fob in the car. Anyone observing suspicious activity in their neighborhood is asked to contact police headquarters at 732-928-1111 so it can be investigated.
