Ambulance joy ride lands 51-year-old in jail for Grand Theft Auto

PANAMA CITY, FL – A joyride in an ambulance led to a grand theft auto arrest on Monday afternoon. The Panama City Police Department was notified around 3:30 p.m. Monday regarding the theft of a Gulf County EMS ambulance from Bay Medical Sacred Heart.

Through investigative leads, 51-year-old Paul Morello was identified as a suspect and he and the ambulance were located a short time later in Springfield. Morello was charged with grand theft auto and theft of medical equipment. PCPD would like to thank the cooperative efforts of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the Springfield Police Department for their assistance.
