22-year-old man shot dead in gunfight is Columbus’ 21st murder of 2021

COLUMBUS, OH – Last night, January 29, 2021, at 7:40 pm, Columbus Police officers were called to the area of 2878 Continental Dr. on a report of shots being fired.

Upon arrival, officers found 22-year-old Dejon Jordan suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Jordan was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital, in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased at 8:27 pm.

The investigation revealed that there was a group of people arguing outside near 2878 Continental Dr. when there was an exchange of gunfire. Jordan was fatally wounded during this exchange.


Following the shooting, an SUV fled the scene northbound on Continental Dr. striking a parked vehicle as it left. The SUV was described as white. This SUV is possibly a Nissan and may have a broken passenger side window and front end damage from the incident.
